ACTORS
Ithaca Film Audition
Auditions for Film
A powerful dramatic tale about parents dealing with their grief two
years after their son's death. The story revolves around the central
action of unlocking the boy's room and how it inevitably brings to
surface the destruction of their marriage.
Ithaca Student, Jalissa Cruz, seeks three actors.
1. Female (who looks or is about 30-45 years of age) to play the part of
Celia Martin, female lead who has let herself go after her son's
death. After finding a picture of her son in her husband's wallet and
realizing just how much she's changed, she decides to unlock her son's
room after two years and learn to move on.
2. Male (who looks or is about 30-45 years of age) to play the part of
Ivan Martin: He is fed up with his wife's laziness and detachment from
the world. He is upset when he finds his wife has opened his son's
room.
3. Child [boy-will reconsider for girl, however] (who looks or is
about 7-10 years of age) to play the part of
Thomas "Tommy" Martin: He is the motivation for Celia and Ivan's
actions. He will only appear in flashbacks and voiceovers.
Auditions times and locations are TBA but shortly (within the next two weeks)
Email me at lucky.tommyic@gmail.com
for a script of the film and/or
any questions.
Please note that this is an unpaid job. You are, however, guaranteed a
DVD for your reel.
Shooting is scheduled for April 3-4 with final, mandatory rehearsals
the weekend before. Please do not contact me if these weekends do not
work for you. Thanks! :)

NOISES OFF
Noises Off
takes a fond look at the follies of theatre folk, whose susceptibility to
out-of-control egos, memory loss and passionate affairs turn every
performance into a high-risk adventure.
This comedy-within-a-comedy captures a touring theatre troupe’s production of
"Nothing On" in three stages: dress rehearsal, the opening performance, and a
performance toward the end of the run. Each performance is portrayed from
behind the scenes, progressing from flubbed lines and missed cues in the
dress rehearsal to mounting friction between cast members in the final
performance.
Brimming with slapstick comedy, Noises Off is a backstage farce of slamming
doors, falling trousers and flying sardines!
Auditioning performers will be
asked to read from the script and to try a British accent.
Performance dates are April 23, 24, 29, 30 and May 1 at 7pm and April 25 and
May 2 at 3pm.
Please call 454-5451 or email
info@ptpashows.org with any questions.

Wednesday, March 24th
6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Men and Women of all ages are needed. There are no roles for children in this show. Please come prepared with a short song to perform. Actors may be asked to read from the script.
CITY OF ANGELS is the rarest of musical comedies; one that is not only loaded with music and written in the contemporary jazz idiom, but also filled with sidesplitting comedy. Set in the glamorous, seductive Hollywood of the 40's, the world of film studios and flimsy negligees, the show chronicles the misadventures of Stine, a young novelist, attempting a screenplay for movie producer/director, Buddy Fidler and Stine’s private detective, Stone.
Rehearsals will begin in mid – April.
City of Angels opens May 28th and will run for 3 weekends.
Call (607) 687 – 2130 to schedule an audition.

Would you like to add your show dates to Curtains Up?
Submit your advertisement INFORMATION (flyer or poster) containing the name of your Theater Group, the name of the show and your director.
Include the Date: Time, Location, & Ticket Prices no later than two weeks before your opening night. (I will copy/paste your info, so if it's in error it will be yours, not mine.)

You are also welcomed to merely send a basic announcement and I'll put that up along with a LINK to your website for further details.
This is a FREE service and is done when I have the time to do it, so I cannot make guarantees as to having your announcements up in time. Accuracy of show dates and times will be copy/pasted from the material you send, so it is up to you to get them right!
All professional and non-professional theater groups, on my Theatre Companies listing, are welcomed to advertise.
http://www.stagewhispers.net/theatre-companies.asp
If you are NOT on that page and would like to be, and if your group lies within 2 1/2 hours of Binghamton by car, write to me and send me your info!
Shows that share the same dates will be listed alphabetically by Theater Group, excepting the word “the”.
“The Brighton Players”, for example, would go before “Salisbury Community Theater”.
EXCEPTION
If shows share ‘split’ dates, the show that goes up first, will be listed ahead of the other.
