Appearing with The Little Victory Players, Rick recently reprised his role as Adam in Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me. He was previously seen as De Valvert & Capt. Carbon in Cyrano De Bergerac and was, in a former life, Elwood P. Dowd in Harvey, which he will be reprising this summer of '06. He has performed with numerous companies across the Southern Tier, including Franklin Stock Company, Know Theatre, The Cider Mill Playhouse, Ti-Ahwaga Community Players, Little Victory Players, Theatricks By Starlight, and the Barnstorm Players.

 

Among his favorite roles are Joe Benjamin in God’s Favorite; John Pope, Sr. in Hatful of Rain; Arnold Crouch in Not Now Darling; Dale Harding in One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest; Freddie in Picasso at the Lapin Agile; Homer Bolton in Mornings at Seven; Charles Condomine in Blithe Spirit; Rev. Witherspoon in 1776; Bernard in Don’t Dress For Dinner; George in Wife Begins at Forty; Adam Canning in Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me; Arthur Kipps in The Woman in Black; and Elwood P. Dowd in Harvey. He supports his theatrical addiction as an attorney with Coughlin & Gerhart LLP in Binghamton.

 

He more recently portrayed "Donny", in David Mamet's American Buffalo, for The Know Theatre and reprised his role in Hancock, NY, for the Little Victory Players.

Summary

 

Marty Murray is a writer, actor, and director. He has worked with various theater companies, including Jan DeAngelo and Company and the Know Theatre in Binghamton. He has played a variety of different roles ranging from Ali Hakim in Oklahoma to The Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz, and the young male lead in American Buffalo for both the Know Theatre in Binghamton, NY and The Little Victory Players in Hancock, NY.

 

Marty plans to write and direct feature films when he gets older, and he got his first big break at directing when he did No Exit last January. Recently, Marty has had his original one act play, called Hurricane, produced at the Know Theatre in Binghamton.

 

Marty would like to thank his parents and everyone else that has given him support over the years and he hopes that this show will be a great success.
