New addition to Stagewhispers!

Seasonal Announcements

This page consists of Theaters announcing their upcoming season. These will be listed alphabetically by company names.  If your company wishes to have its productions listed, you must send the name of the productions and the performance dates, with a link to your tickets and information pages at your web site. Send to stagewhispers@stny.rr.com, subject: Seasonal Announcement.

Because of the eventuality of many theatres being listed, I will not include synopses with the information for your seasonal events. Only full staged productions or play readings will be listed! Stagewhispers does not have the space to include singer/band concerts, comedy/talent/variety shows, etc., unless they are listed as Fundraisers, and those will be added to the Fundraisers space only.

Theatre Companies The many beneficial advantages of using Stagewhispers to announce your upcoming productions!

Unlike a local newspaper, my site can place your production and audition information a good two to six weeks before opening night. It’s a good deal of work for me, and not of great value to you, if you send me your announcement the week of the show!

Rather than sending notices to my personal email address, mickeyray@stny.rr.com,  please remove that address and only send your announcements to stagewhispers@stny.rr.com, and well in advance of your opening night. That will work best for all of us!

Actors! Stagewhispers does not automatically update your resumes and head shots. If you’re happy looking the way you looked four to six years ago and have no new productions to add to your resume, no problem. Otherwise, you need to submit updated material to me and I’ll be glad to change your resume accordingly. You can E-mail your resume in a Word document or a text document to stagewhispers@stny.rr.com. Subject: Resume. If you have new head shots, just attach them to the same letter.

Lots of productions listed. Be sure to check out what is performing at your favorite theater in your area!

A reminder: I've made it about as easy as possible for theater companies and individuals to send in whatever they can by clicking on the DONATE tab and using my Pay Pal account, or by sending a check to the provided address. I ask  again, ...please, please help! I love having this theatrical resource available for you!

Thank you!
Mickey Ray

More than six months has gone by and Stagewhispers has received only one new donations. Please...I really need your help. Living on disability income, I simply can’t afford to hold large fundraiser parties or auctions, so I depend on my readers and Theatre Companies to send what they can.

If there is an individual, group, or company, that would like to sponsor a fundraiser, I’d be most happy to accept their kind offer! Write to me and let’s work something out!

I really wish that all the Theatre Companies, whose productions I publish, would send even the cost of one ticket per production as a helpful thank you to keeping this website going. Keep in mind, publicity at Stagewhispers is free and information about your production goes up long before most costly ads in newspapers will publish your openings. Considering the number of company productions listed, sending just that small share, would take care of Stagewhispers indefinitely. As you know, I do list all contributions at Stagewhispers, so your donation would be publicly announced, unless you wish otherwise.

As usual, every Thursday, after the Wednesday newsletter has goes out,  I get a whole lot more email from various theatres who are announcing their upcoming shows and auditions, so be sure to check Stagewhispers online, every day, even if you get the newsletter. Something new is always happening!

To all theatre companies listed at Stagewhispers: You want actors to be there for you, so you should support your local actors and let them know they can have their head shots and resumes displayed at Stagewhispers Actors Gallery at no cost! All they have to do is attach their head shot and fill out the form already created right here on my website!

The New Reality Players, a multicultural theatre company, as well as the first of three new companies in the Binghamton, NY area, begins its season with the play, “Ghosts of the South”, written and directed by Judith Present. The production will take place in the Centenary-Chenango Street United Methodist Church, 438 Chenango Street, Binghamton, New York, February 24th - 26th. Tickets are only $10 per seating.

The play is written with the realism and urgency that could only be told by those who lived in America scarred by Civil War’s gunfire and echoing with all its resonating impact. Click here to see more details, and you call 607-724-3546 or Email them at: newrealityplayers@yahoo.com.

Roberson Museum starts its own theatre company!
Alonzo’s Acting Company

This newly formed company, (Alonzo being Mr. Roberson’s first name) will produce its first play, “Apron Strings”, written by local playwright, Laura Cunningham and directed by Judy McMahon. The purpose of the company will be to work around the specific exhibits and events that may be currently showing at Roberson Museum. This particular production is part of the Civil War exhibit that is currently on display.

Inspired by the Civil War Exhibit at Roberson Museum, the play features four soldiers and a drummer boy who are returning from the Civil War to their homes in Broome County.  Samuel, a Black man, is en route to Syracuse, New York. The six all served together in the Union Army. The story twists and turns as these characters travel in a freight compartment of the Erie Railway. All aboard...!

Tickets may be bought at the door, online, or by phone at 772-0060. Prices are $8/members of Roberson and $10/non-members.

To all Theater Companies!

The new layout of Stagewhispers now gives only the dates and locations of your auditions and productions. For the most part, we no longer provide any other details on those pages, but we will link to the theatres' chosen websites for interested visitors to get those details. Depending on time, I may be able to add details, by adding a specific page in the “What’s New” events sub-folders, OR on the Synopsis page..

Therefore, Stagewhispers requires that all theatres, if you haven’t done so already, provide a link to their websites, or any other web pages, which will give the details about your auditions and your upcoming productions. This means it is your responsibility to keep your websites up to date or your information will simply not be available to those who go to the link you have provided.

Without some sort of link, a website URL, or an email address, to go to for that information, I can’t place your announcements at Stagewhispers. Once I have a link, Stagewhispers will also provide synopses of your productions on a special page, if you send them.

Thank you,
Mickey Ray
