News, Upcoming Productions, Auditions and Fundraisers for May and June
Greetings, one and all!
Welcome to the ONLINE version of Stagewhispers Newsletter updated, almost, daily as I get new information, and where you can subscribe to the weekly email delivery of the Stagewhispers newsletter by clicking on the link above!
News, Upcoming Productions, Auditions and Fundraisers for July and August!
I'm preparing for my one man show, "Wigdiculous", written produced and directed by James Micali. It opens on the last weekend of August and the first weekend of September. You can find out more about that show by clicking on the highlighted title above!
Also…there is a film opportunity in Binghamton, NY for you actors who aspire to see yourselves in the movies! See the auditions announcements below!
Have a wonderful week, and support your local theatre by seeing a live performance!!
Mickey
Attention Actors!
How long has it been since your head shot has been up at Stagewhispers? Time for change? How about updating that resume? It's my hope that you've been active and performing, so send me the info on what shows you've been in, the characters you played and for which companies. There are 2 galleries now that display your images, one by first name, the other by last name for the convenience of those seeking you. Each thumbnail, head shot links to your personal page with your resume and any information you wish to share, include up to five photos!
Remember...IT'S ALL FREE! Actors have been called and asked to audition for roles in both plays and films! Why lose a possible opportunity, especially when it's free? Send your head shots and resumes, or updated info, including any email address changes, to stagewhispers@stny.rr.com!
I'm not absolutely certain of the first day in January, over three years ago, when I posted Stagewhispers on my own mickeyray.com site (It was originally called mickeyzhere.com). So I've made January 15th the official date of Stagewhispers' beginnings!
I hope those of you who are reading and making use of this website are enjoying what you see and finding the pages in some way or other, advantageous.
This year, in order to help defray the costs, I'm considering adding space for advertisers. This may take awhile to develop, but donations have dwindled and expenses have risen.
I do want to thank those of you who have given in the past (see the CONTRIBUTIONS page) to to help keep this site alive, and of course, I'm always happy to accept any amount of funds all of you are able to give.
Best wishes for good health, happiness and successful endeavors in seeing all your dreams come true!

SPECIAL REQUESTS from SULLIVAN COUNTY DRAMATIC WORKSHOP
Percussion - H E L P ?
The Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop is staging "Little Shop of Horrors"
for six performances in August (Aug 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15) at the Rivoli
Theatre in South Fallsburg, NY. We had HAD our pit band lined up and
unfortunately did not get follow thru. (We do have our piano,
flute/clarinet and alto sax). We are now in need of a percussionist who
can read - and is available on those dates - plus for rehearsal with the
cast the week prior, as well as getting together with the Musical Director
asap... Music is available now!
While the gig is a non-paid one, for talented students, Community Theatre
involvement looks great on a resume and counts for school-required
community service! And, for talented adults, while you won't be getting
paid, you'll make TWICE what the Director and Musical Director get -
combined!! :)
Please contact Musical Director, Annie Hat at
ahat@hvc.rr.com
or Director, Lori Schneider-Wendt at
MLori1962@aol.com
'Nother ODD request here... Looking to borrow
a motorcycle for Orin Scrivello, DDS to ride in "Little Shop of Horrors" -
this would be ridden by the actor playing the Dentist - DOWN the aisle of
the Rivoli and back up - with Audrey on back... Looking for a small, light
bike - preferably without a ton of fumes, as it will be ridden indoors.
The actor has some experience with dirt bikes, but doesn't have a
motorcycle license - but this is only for indoor use for the show... It
would be ridden inside the Rivoli Theatre in South Fallsburg.
WHAT WE NEED:
An older-LOOKING bike (black or silver, preferably) that looks like it
might've been around in the late 50s, early 60s
HARLEY SPORTSTER
TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE
YAMAHA V-STAR
HONDA 600 SHADOW
WHEN DO WE NEED IT?
Minimally, for a few rehearsals and the show dates - which are - AUGUST 6,
7, 8, 13, 14, 15
YOU GET FREE TICKETS TO THE SHOW and a Special Thanks in the Program!
Please contact Director, Lori Schneider-Wendt asap if you have something
you think might work!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

There are always additions to the TELL ME ABOUT IT page with interesting information about various theatre companies listed at Stagewhispers. Not all of them are mentioned in the newsletter, so be sure to stop by and check things out. Generally, the newest items head the articles.
The capitalized theatre names below, in red with yellow background, link directly to their website! The capitalized blue titles lead to pages at Stagewhispers!
Details buttons will send you to Stagewhispers pages that will, incredibly enough, provide details not seen in the brief notices within the newsletter, such as ticket prices, synopses, audition details and other pertinent information.
NEWS
To all those actors who were once at the gallery, but no longer are, if you send in a bio or resume, with a working means of contact, your head shot will be placed back in the Gallery, and so will your personal page.
If you want to see your head shot there, send me your photo and resume!! stagewhispers@stny.rr.com! Remember...IT'S ALL FREE! If you know of actors you think deserve to have their head shots and resumes seen by thousands of visitors at Stagewhispers, write to them or call them and tell them about Stagewhispers' Actors Gallery and have them send me their material! Limited only to actors within the 2 1/2 hour radius of Binghamton, NY.
When you visit the Actors Gallery...you'll note that is has been trimmed down to consist only of those actors who have sent me either their resume or a bio, along with contact information. All future actors must likewise submit their information along with their head shots!
**There is also a second version of the Actors Gallery with the actors listed in alphabetical order by LAST name. www.stagewhispers.net/actors-2.asp

STAGEWHISPERS IS NOW AT
*****And, speaking of Facebook....*****
If you're sending out upcoming shows and information via FACEBOOK, please don't rely on that as a means of sending me the information just because I'm on your list there. Having to go to Facebook is no different than having to go online to all the different theatre companies and copy/pasting the information. You still need to send me the details and photos you wish the public to see. While my email subscribers list as 1000, Stagewhispers gets over 3000 hits a week. That's a lot of people interested in what's going on, theatrically, in this area!

HELP! PLEASE!
Stagewhispers is a one man operation. I haven't the financial means or facility to set about holding fundraising dinners, plays, golf tournaments, or auctions, and so the only financial assistance I get comes from the occasional check sent by those of you who enjoy this site and would like to see it continue.
The total amount of funding, outside of my own, very slim pocket, has been a total of $1,200.00 in 36 months, from September of 2007 to May of 2010. Stagewhispers is now over two years old. That comes to $33.30 per month. How many organizations and websites can survive on that? Mailing out the newsletter costs $20 per month!
How about putting on a production benefit with a 25 percentage donation to Stagewhispers! I'll be happy to post your production on the FUNDRAISERS page, the ONLINE newsletter and the emailed version, as well as Stagewhispers FACEBOOK page!
Stagewhispers isn't a huge, national site. It was never meant to be, but it is serving it's intended purpose! Please, if you agree that this site is doing well and worth keeping as a community tool, I would certainly appreciate hearing from you personally, whether you are a theatre company, an actor, or an individual who enjoys getting the information Stagewhispers provides. And, of course, if you can donate any money to help defray time and costs to this effort, I would be most grateful! If $5 dollars is all you can spare, that is nothing to be ashamed of and would be most welcomed!
See how to send any donations via check or money order at the end of this newsletter. Your contribution, with your permission, is available to see right on Stagewhispers CONTRIBUTIONS page! If you wish to remain anonymous, that wish will also be respected.
