News, Upcoming Productions, Auditions and Fundraisers for February & March
(And some for April)
Greetings, one and all!
Welcome to the ONLINE version of Stagewhispers Newsletter updated, almost, daily as I get new information!
NEWS
THANK YOU!
I want to send out a warm thanks to all of you who sent financial support for Stagewhispers. I did not get enough to pay to keep everything going up to 2015, but I did get enough to get to 3-9-2013, guaranteeing three more years of Stagewhispers! The total in donations came to $400 and the total I spent at Go Daddy was $337.67, which included the 25% discount, as promised! The remainder amount will pay for the Express Email Marketing for five months, which includes another $50 sent after I caught up with Go Daddy!
So, again, thank you to those of you who helped to keep Stagewhispers going! All the money that was sent, or given to me personally, has been listed on the CONTRIBUTIONS page. If there are some of you who hadn't yet donated, but you'd still like to contribute, I would welcome your gifts, as they will help in adding a few dollars to my personal expenses in the daily cost of living. As you know, I survive on my monthly disability check, so any extra income would help tremendously!
I'm not absolutely certain of the first day in January when I posted Stagewhispers on my own mickeyray.com site (It was originally called mickeyzhere.com). So I've made January 15th the official date of Stagewhispers' beginnings!
I hope those of you who are reading and making use of this website are enjoying what you see and finding the pages in some way or other, advantageous.
This year, in order to help defray the costs, I'm considering adding space for advertisers. This may take awhile to develop, but donations have dwindled and expenses have risen.
I do want to thank those of you who have given in the past (see the CONTRIBUTIONS page) to to help keep this site alive, and of course, I'm always happy to accept any amount of funds all of you are able to give.
Here's to another year and looking forward to reporting what shows and auditions are coming up, as well as theatrical seasons, education and fundraiser announcements.
Best wishes for good health, happiness and successful endeavors in seeing all your dreams come true!
Mickey Ray
Stagewhispers Owner and Webmaster
There are always additions to the TELL ME ABOUT IT page with interesting information about various theatre companies listed at Stagewhispers. Not all of them are mentioned in the newsletter, so be sure to stop by and check things out. Generally, the newest items head the articles.
The capitalized theatre names below, in red with yellow background, link directly to their website! The capitalized blue titles lead to pages at Stagewhispers!
Details buttons will send you to Stagewhispers pages that will, incredibly enough, provide details not seen in the brief notices within the newsletter, such as ticket prices, synopses, audition details and other pertinent information.
NEWS
To all those actors who were once at the gallery, but no longer are, if you send in a bio or resume, with a working means of contact, your head shot will be placed back in the Gallery, and so will your personal page.
If you want to see your head shot there, send me your photo and resume!! stagewhispers@stny.rr.com! Remember...IT'S ALL FREE! If you know of actors you think deserve to have their head shots and resumes seen by thousands of visitors at Stagewhispers, write to them or call them and tell them about Stagewhispers' Actors Gallery and have them send me their material! Limited only to actors within the 2 1/2 hour radius of Binghamton, NY.
When you visit the Actors Gallery...you'll note that is has been trimmed down to consist only of those actors who have sent me either their resume or a bio, along with contact information. All future actors must likewise submit their information along with their head shots!
**There is also a second version of the Actors Gallery with the actors listed in alphabetical order by LAST name. www.stagewhispers.net/actors-2.asp
---------------------------
Stagewhispers former "PLAYGROUPS" page is now officially the "THEATRE COMPANIES" page.
I hope I have emended all previous links to the Playgroups page, but should an old link take you to that page, there will be a link there to bring you to the correct and changed webpage!
STAGEWHISPERS wishes to welcome the following new theatre company to its listings:
---------------------------
VERY IMPORTANT...PLEASE READ!
Some weeks ago, Go Daddy, Express Email has sent me a notice, immediately after I sent out today's newsletter, that they received one spam complaint. They did not tell me which email address made the complaint, so all I can do is ask of all of you, if you do not wish to get this newsletter in your email, PLEASE, write to me personally and I'll remove your name. I sell nothing on this newsletter, so it is not a business SPAM email, but if they get enough complaints, they'll remove my account and there will be no further Stagewhispers notices.
EMAILED NEWSLETTERS WILL CONTINUE!
Thank you for responding to last week's newsletter and activating your subscription by opening your subscribed newsletter.
Over 700 addresses were activated, and percentage wise, that's enough for me to continue with the Newsletter e-mailings. The online newsletter will still exist, as well, so you can always check it for updates during the week, almost anytime, at your convenience. ONLINE NEWSLETTERS. Still, this service is not free, so your donations will help to defray the costs!
STAGEWHISPERS IS NOW AT
*****And, speaking of Facebook....*****
If you're sending out upcoming shows and information via FACEBOOK, please don't rely on that as a means of sending me the information just because I'm on your list there. Having to go to Facebook is no different than having to go online to all the different theatre companies and copy/pasting the information. You still need to send me the details and photos you wish the public to see. While my email subscribers list as 1000, Stagewhispers gets over 3000 hits a week. That's a lot of people interested in what's going on, theatrically, in this area!
NEW
FACES!
There are no new faces at
the ACTORS
gallery this week! There are no new faces at
the ACTORS
gallery this week! In fact, we lost one. Best
wishes to Thomas Brown, who has moved away to bigger and better
things!! Enjoy the Rockies, Thom!
When you visit the Actors Gallery...you'll note that is has been trimmed down to consist only of those actors who have sent me either their resume or a bio, along with contact information. All future actors must likewise submit their information along with their head shots! To all those actors who are no longer at the page, once you have sent a bio or resume with a working means of contact, your head shot will be placed back in the Gallery.
WON'T YOU PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ?
Stagewhispers is a one man operation. I haven't the financial means or facility to set about holding fundraising dinners, plays, golf tournaments, or auctions, and so the only financial assistance I get comes from the occasional check sent by those of you who enjoy this site and would like to see it continue. The total amount of funding, outside of my own, very slim pocket, has been a total of $1,150.00 in 20 months, from September of 2007 to May of 2009. Stagewhispers is now over two years old. That comes to around $47.92 per month. How many organizations and websites can survive on that?
Stagewhispers isn't a huge, national site. It was never meant to be, but it is serving it's intended purpose! Please, if you agree that this site is doing well and worth keeping as a community tool, I would certainly appreciate hearing from you personally, whether you are a theatre company, an actor, or an individual who enjoys getting the information Stagewhispers provides. And, of course, if you can donate any money to help defray time and costs to this effort, I would be most grateful! If $5 dollars is all you can spare, that is nothing to be ashamed of and would be most welcomed!
See how to send any donations via check or money order at the end of this newsletter. Your contribution, with your permission, is available to see right on Stagewhispers CONTRIBUTIONS page! If you wish to remain anonymous, that wish will also be respected.
